Listed here are some interesting expeditions that helped to inspire mine. For anyone planning a similar expedition this is a treaure trove of website hints, reviews and feedback. For others it is amazing to hear of all the other people out there who heeded the Call to Adventure and are finding their bliss. Some are still on the road others i’m sure still have their bicycles in the Garage.
Adventurers met on the road
Culture Quest I met Peter & Shahla on the road in Southern Thailand. They were heading south and I north. As we got talking I realised i could have easily chatted to these guys for days but i’m grateful for the few hours we chatted together inthe scorching tropical sun. They’d been on the road a long time which was evident looking at their setup and hopefully they’ll be on the road for some time to come.
Vancouver to Vancouver Expedition Home I met Tim Harvey cycling through Poland in 2005. This was his Expedition to circumnavigate the world using human power! Tim completed this trip in 2006 and currently resides in Canada writing a book and producing a documentary about the Expedition.
BrinkX – The Expedition An Aussie expedition starting in the heart of the Amazon and ending up in Australia. I met Kendon in Brisbane 2009 at the start of my journey and then spent a month together in Darwin as our respective expeditions crossed paths. Kendon is an all round champion and one unique individual.

It’s packed full of stories on the road, tips, and advice. I met Friedal and Andrew in Newcastle a few weeks prior to departure on the CSX.
Bici Clown – I met Alvaro cycling through Indonesia in 2009. We shared a beer together. His story is one incredible adventure. Cycling around the world and performing as a clown to underprivileged children, Alvaro has been on the road for about 10 years.
